Senior citizens receive P300K-aid

ROXAS City – Senior citizens in Capiz received a total of P300,000-financial assistance from the provincial government during the turn-over of checks program held last September 29 at the Provincial Capitol here.

Governor Victor Tanco Sr. and Vice-Governor Esteban Evan Contreras, with Provincial Social Welfare Development Officer Violeta Silva turned over the check worth P20,000 to each senior citizens representatives from Capiz’s 15 towns.

The check for Tapaz town was withheld due to lack of documents.

The assistance will help the Federation of Senior Citizens Association of the Philippines (FSCAP), Inc. in each town celebrate the Elderly Month this October.

This year’s event carries the theme “Ang Nakakatanda ay Yaman, Katuwang sa Pag-unlad ng Bayan Pangalagaan Kanilang Karapatan.” (CPPB/Klair Joy Emperado)
