ROXAS City – The Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) and two police stations in the province were awarded by the Police Regional Office-6 during the 113th Police Service Anniversary celebration held at Camp Delgado, Iloilo City recently.

Senior Supt. Ulysses Caton, CPPO provincial director, said CPPO received the Special Unit Award for Notable Accomplishment on Disaster Rescue and Relief Operations.

Roxas City police station was awarded the Most Number of Firearms Accounted while Pontevedra police station was awarded the Achievement Award for the Solution of Sensational Criminal Case.

PRO-6 Regional Director Josephus Angan and Capiz Gov. Victor A. Tanco, the event’s guest speaker, presented the awards.

The CPPO was recognized for the same accomplishment during the Provincial Government’s “Pagpapasalamant 2014” in July 2014.

Local government officials recognized the Capiz PNP’s performance during the relief and recovery operations of the provincial government in November 2013, when supertyphoon Yolanda hit the province.

In its session Wednesday, the Roxas City Council recommended the Roxas City PNP for the award. The body urged the police to continue its program to ensure a peaceful and orderly Roxas City. (Felipe Celino/The Daily Guardian)
