ILOILO City – Capiceños have more reasons to celebrate than to whine for as the provincial government of Capiz promotes “Tindog Capiz” in the Kasadyahan of Dinagyang Festival 2014 held last Saturday.
The Kasadyahan featured the different festivals in Western Visayas.
Capiz’ Sinadya sa Halaran Festival showcased the recent plight of Capiceños who are trying to recover from the aftermath of super typhoon Yolanda.
The festival presented an aggressive province where residents work together to recover from the tragedy.
Recently, the province’s Tourism office launched the “Tindog Capiz” campaign which also promotes volunteerism among tourists.
The “voluntourists” can help in the rehabilitation and recovery of typhoon victims by taking part in different volunteerism and touring activities.
The tourists, who are visiting the country’s seafood capital, can still enjoy their stay while at the same time, help the typhoon victims.
The performers also highlighted the different Capiz’ products which remain the province’s economy drivers like the seafood, handicrafts, rice, among others. (Maricyn A. De los Santos/The Daily Guardian)
