UN head commends Capiz provincial leaders

ROXAS City – United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Valerie Ann Amos commended the Capiz provincial government headed by Governor Vic Tanco for its disaster preparedness and leadership when typhoon Yolanda that hit the province last November 8.

In a briefing at the Provincial Capitol on November 20, Amos said: "The early warnings that you personally give and the leadership you showed are absolutely critical."

Meanwhile, Amos said livelihood support and investment is very crucial as these will impact the lives of Capizeños in the coming months.

She assured every international agencies aiding Capiz that everything they’ve reported will be raised up to donations forum specifically on shelter, livelihood, education and welfare of children and many more.
