ROXAS City — A new officer-in-charge (OIC) will lead the Capiz Police Provincial Office: Senior Supt. Victor Wanchakan.
Wanchakan took the helm from Senior Supt. Remus Zacharias Canieso, who served as OIC after the provincial police director, Senior Supt. Domingo Cabillan, was relieved.
Top police and government officials have expressed confidence and hope in Wanchakan.
Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz Jr., regional police director, believes that Wanchakan can lead the Capiz police to greater heights and could bring innovations in the force.
Cruz was the guest of honor during the recent turnover of command in the province.
He said Wanchakan was chosen due to his integrity and sterling qualification.
He urged the provincial policemen to pledge their loyalty to Wanchakan and work with him in providing genuine service to Capiceños.
They must be “ready to embrace change” and be “open-minded to change,” Cruz said.
He urged them to “forge ties with the community and understand the people’s needs” to “win [their] complete trust and confidence.”
On the other hand, Gov. Victor Tanco Sr. welcomed Wanchakan and thanked Cabillan and Canieso.
Tanco also thanked the personnel of the Capiz Police Provincial Office protecting the people and maintaining peace, especially during the mid-term elections in May.
He believes that they can do the same in the upcoming barangay election next month.
The governor assured the police force of the provincial government’s all-out support.
Tanco said he expects that, under Wanchakan, the provincial police will continue to be ready for emergencies, especially disasters. (PIA–Capiz/PN)
