Their graduation was held at the La Hacienda Hotel here.
The graduates listened to radio station RMN-DyVR every Sunday from May 13, 2012 until September 26 to learn the right processes in organic vegetable production, then applied to their farms what they learned.
“Capiz farmers are a big help in the progress of our agriculture sector,” said Gov. Victor Tanco.
Among the 337 graduates, seven were recognized as achievers:
- Johny Gregorio, Jovelyn Dolencio, Jofritz Mendoza and Harvey Harre all from the municipality of Dumarao
- Lorlyn Cordovero of Cuartero
- Rocillo Villeza of Jamindan; and
- Jenielyn Daños of Panitan.
The graduates were from Roxas City – 13; Cuartero – 49; Dao and Mambusao – 20; Dumarao – 25; Ivisan and Tapaz – 18; Jamindan – 28; Maayon – 22; Panay and Sigma – 32; Panitan – 11; Pilar – 6; Pres. Roxas – 27; and Sapian – 16.
With the right farming knowledge, the farmers can help stabilize the production and supply of quality vegetables in Capiz, said Tanco. (cppb/Roxanne Dichosa/Panay News)
