ROXAS City – Capitol employees will have a merry Christmas as Gov. Victor Tanco announced that they will receive their bonus not later than Dec. 22.

In an interview, Tanco said the province has an accumulated savings of almost P29,000,000 from different departments and from the government’s economic enterprises.

Our proposals for the Sangguniang Panlalawigan to approve on Wednesday, next week, are the P20,000 bonus for permanent employees and P5,000 for casual and contractual employees,” Tanco added.

On the other hand, City Hall employees are wary if they can receive their bonus this Christmas.

To recall, nine members of the city council are boycotting their regular session every Tuesday of the week because they declared they lost their trust on Vice Mayor Ronnie Dadivas.

While the vice mayor reminded them that under the council’s internal rules, four consecutive absences without considerable reasons will be grounds for suspension.

I don’t know if we can still receive our Christmas bonus. We are affected by their political interests,” said an employee who refused to be named. (PN/JOHN S. HEREDIA)
