Far Eastern University Cheering Squad rocked the 2022 UAAP Cheerdance Competition to finally end a 13-year championship drought on Sunday at Mall of Asia Arena.

FEU Cheering Squad, which settled for back-to-back runner-up finishes in the past two seasons, got over the hump with a rock n’ roll inspired performance for its first championship since 2009.

The Tamaraws hardly missed a bit from a two-year pandemic break and displayed excellence amid the new normal competition, which was limited to only 15 performers and a three-minute performance without the presence of the drummers.

Adamson PEP Squad, the 2017 champion, placed second with its western country-themed cheerdance.

FEU also ended National University PEP Squad’s three-year reign.

The NU PEP Squad, which ruled six of the last seven seasons, turned back the clock with its 90-inspired performance. But it only settled for a bronze finish.
