Creamline defeated Choco Mucho, 23-25, 25-19, 25-18, 25-15, in Game 2 to sweep their semifinals series, 2-0, in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Open Conference at the Mall of Asia Arena on Sunday, and advanced to their sixth straight finals appearance.
Tots Carlos led the way for the Cool Smashers with 23 points on 19 attacks, while Jema Galanza put up 18 and Alyssa Valdez punched in 17.
Jia Morado-De Guzman orchestrated Creamline's offense with 27 excellent sets, while Kyla Atienza and Galanza took care of the floor defense with 17 and 15 digs, respectively.
Celine Domingo held the fort at the frontline with four blocks, as she tallied nine points in the game held before a jampacked venue.
"We're thankful because we were able to recover from our first set loss because our comeback bid came up short," said Creamline head coach Sherwin Meneses in the post-game presser.
The Cool Smashers, who will face the winner between Cignal and Petro Gazz in the finals, overcame a 1-6 deficit as they went on a 13-1 run to take a 14-7 lead in the fourth set.
The Flying Titans closed in, 12-14, before Creamline put the game away with an 11-3 finishing kick punctuated by a Valdez off the block attack.
Kat Tolentino paced the Flying Titans with 14 points on 11 attacks and three blocks, as Des Cheng poured 13 and Bea De Leon unloaded nine.
Meanwhile, the Chery Tiggo Crossovers defeated Black Mamba Army Lady Troopers, 25-15, 25-20, 20-25, 23-25, 15-12, in the classification phase earlier in the day.
