The F2 Logistics Cargo Movers add woes to the title defense hopes of Chery Tiggo Crossovers with a dominant three sets win, 25-18, 25-23, 25-22, in the 2022 PVL Open Conference on Friday at the Paco Arena.
Aby Maraño and Kim Kianna Dy led the scoring charge for F2 Logistics with each chipping in 11 points, while Tin Tiamzon added 10 markers to maintain an unbeaten 2-0 slate in Pool A.
The first set displayed the Cargo Movers' dominance on the floor due to their efficient attack points, productive serves, and forcing errors on their opponents.
F2 Logistics continued to assert themselves offensively in the second set despite some little scoring runs from the defending champions, as they were bolstered by the return of ace setter Kim Fajardo from injury.
The third set saw a close fight between the two squads, but the Crossovers failed to exhibit their veteran poise from the excellent offensive plays by the Cargo Movers.
"I think it's a big deal that we as a team have one mindset and one goal. So, we work towards that goal," Tiamzon said in the post-game interview.
The loss was a big blow for Chery Tiggo, which dropped to 0-2 and tied with Army at the bottom of the five-team Pool A standings. Only the top four squads in the bracket will advance to the quarterfinals.
Maika Ortiz topscored for the Crossovers with 11 points.
