The PLDT High Speed Hitters, the professional volleyball team of PLDT, are gearing up for the upcoming Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference which opens on July 9.
“We are excited to see our team back on the court in the upcoming conference. We will continue to support our team and help them achieve their goals to improve with every game,” said Jude Turcuato, Head of Sports at PLDT and Smart.
“This is an opportunity for us to move at least one step forward and display our players’ skills once again,” said Head Coach George Pascua.
The PLDT High Speed Hitters will return to the hardcourt with Creamline, Petro Gazz, Chery Tiggo, Cignal, Choco Mucho, and Army Black Mamba. Two international teams will also join the action during the semifinals, Kobe Shinwa Women’s University of Japan and Taipei King Whales, the top team in the Taiwan Volleyball League.
“It is only our second conference as a team, and we are expecting to apply what we have learned from the first and in our training the past few months. Any team would wish for a championship, but I would rather expect a good result first, one game at a time,” said veteran middle blocker Mika Reyes. “We’ve been practicing regularly and building our team chemistry. We are still a work in progress, but our outlook is promising,” she added.

“As a company who believes in the values that we learn from sports, the winning culture is something that we expect in any MVP team. But we understand that it’s not always an easy feat, that is why we will continue to support our team and help them achieve their goals, one step at a time. We always want to improve and be better in every game, that is the mindset that we want for the team,” Turcuato added.
