As cases of COVID-19 infection in Metro Manila start to slow down, the PBA Board of Governors during a Board meeting on Monday, unanimously agreed to resume action in the Governors' Cup by the first week of February.

Just two weeks after returning to play at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, the PBA voluntarily stopped action in the Governors' Cup due to the spike of COVID-19 infection in the country which forced the government to place the nation's capital under Alert Level 3.

According to Marcial the league is just waiting for the go signal from the LGUs through the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) so teams can start their scrimmages.

Teams will be given 10 days of scrimmages before the league resumes play.
