The San Miguel Beermen continued their winning ways in the 2021 PBA Governors' Cup by clobbering the Terrafirma Dyip, 100-88, on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

The Beermen's win was their third straight in the conference, after brushing off an unusual 0-2 start.

Brandon Brown and Terrence Romeo topscored for San Miguel's dominant victory with 23 points apiece.

"They know the importance of the game, after we lost two consecutive games. I'm very happy for them," said San Miguel head coach Leo Austria after the match.

The multi-titled franchise asserted their might early in the first quarter with a 27-18 advantage from well-timed offensive plays.

Romeo scored 16 of his total points in the first half as the Beermen held on with a 48-37 edge at halftime.

San Miguel drew solid inside shots from Brown and big men June Mar Fajardo and Vic Manuel in the third quarter to fortify their lead, 77-58.

The Beermen led by as high as 23 points in the final canto and secured the victory, despite a late run by the Dyip to trim their deficit to six in the last two minutes of the game.

Juami Tiongson and import Antonio Hester scored 21 and 19 points, respectively, for Terrafirma, which fell to a 1-4 slate.

Alex Cabagnot, the longtime San Miguel guard traded to Terrafirma last month, failed to suit up for the game as he recovers from an Achilles injury.
