Another Filipino volleyball player is set to make waves overseas.
Mylene Paat has signed on to play for Nakhon Ratchasima in the Women’s Volleyball Thailand League.
Paat, 27, becomes the second player from the Crossovers to play abroad after reigning Premier Volleyball League Most Valuable Player Jaja Santiago, who plays for Saitama in the V.League.
This caps a busy year for the 5-foot-11 spiker out of Bani, Pangasinan.
Paat was instrumental in Chery Tiggo’s championship win in the PVL last August.
Paat would then play for Choco Mucho in the 2021 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship last October.
It was there when Nakhon Ratchasima saw Paat during their game against Choco Mucho last October 1. In the contest, Paat had eight points in Choco Mucho’s straight-set loss to the Thai club.
Recently, the Adamson product helped Chery Tiggo finish the PNVF Champions League in second place.
Paat becomes the third Filipino to play in Thailand after Alyssa Valdez (3BB Nakornnont, 2016) and Marck Espejo (Visakha, 2019-20).
She will also join Santiago, Bagunas (V.League: Oita Miyoshi), Espejo (V.League: Tokyo), and Kalei Mau (Athletes Unlimited) as Filipino volleyball players who are playing overseas.
