Rebisco became the first Philippine team to win a set in the 2021 Asian Volleyball Club Championship, but ultimately fell in a four-set loss to Iran's Saipa Tehran, 26-24, 22-25, 25-13, 25-17 on Sunday in Thailand.
Tied at 19 in the second set, Mhicaela Belen, Majoy Baron, Aby Maraño, and Kamille Cal scored points to give Rebisco the lead, but it was Dindin Santiago-Manabat's score that sealed the set for the Philippine team.
Rebisco and Saipa were neck-and-neck during the early minutes of Sets 3 and 4 but Saipa proved to be the tougher squad as they pulled away and took the sets, and eventually, notch their first win in the tournament.
Rebisco will face Nakhon Ratchasima QminC in the quarterfinals scheduled on Monday, while later in the day, Choco Mucho will face Supreme Chonburi.
