This province has a total of 804,952 population as of May 1, 2020, figures from the Philippine Statistic Authority (PSA) showed.
The capital city of Roxas, on the other hand, is the most populated in Capiz at 179,292 – making up 22.27 percent of the province’s total population.
Of the 16 Capiz municipalities, Tapaz has the highest population, making up 6.76 percent of the province’s total population, followed by Pontevedra (6.18 percent), Dumarao (6.15 percent), and Panay (6.07 percent).
The town of Sapian, on the other hand, has the lowest population – making up only 3.32 percent of Capiz’s total population.
Meanwhile, the fastest growing municipality is Ivisan; its population has an average annual growth rate (PGR) of 1.56 percent from 2015 to 2020.
Maayon town closely followed at 1.50 percent while Dumarao came in next at 1.48 percent and Pontevedra at 1.45 percent.
The towns of Cuartero and Dumalag have the lowest PGR at 0.45 percent each.
Roxas City also has a highest PGR of 1.50 percent for the said period.
