ROXAS City – Experience not just the mouth-watering seafoods of Capiz but also the Capiznons’ hospitality during the much-awaited Capiztahan Festival on April 9-15, 2015.
Organizer One Capiz Foundation led by Executive Director Melanie Arancillo announced that the Seafood Capital of the Philippines all is set for the week-long festivities that celebrate the province’s 114th foundation day and commemorate the 67th death anniversary of the late Capiznon president Manuel Roxas.
Capiz was founded on April 15, 1901 and Roxas died on April 15, 1948.
A Thanksgiving Mass will kick-off the celebration today.
Other activities slated are Los Pasos de Capiz Exhibit, Seafood Fair, 2nd Reggae Festival, 500-Voice Choir Concert, Fluvial Parade with fire dancers, Parade of Lights, Fireworks Display and Fireworks Competition, Drum and Lyre Competition, Trade Fair, Farmers’ and Fishermen’s Day, Sports Fest and Cheer Dance Competition, Kite Flying Competition, among others.
