ROXAS City — Capiz State University (CapSU) will train more than 30 residents of Tapaz town on furniture and cabinet making and basic arc welding under its Mobile Technology School.

Gov. Victor A. Tanco led the signing of a memorandum of agreement on the activity at the conference hall of CapSU Tapaz Campus.

This training will be an opportunity for Tapaznons to uplift their furniture industry,” Tanco said during the signing on Sept. 11.

Regina Fanculba, president of Tapaz Barangay Officials Association, was thankful for the program.
She believes it will help Tapaznons recover faster from the aftermath of super typhoon “Yolanda.”

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) were supporting CapSU’s mobile school.

Also present at the agreement signing were CapSU research director Dr. Annie Reyes, Tesda Specialist II Ronald Baldavi, CapSU director for extension Dr. Emelita Solante, DOLE–Capiz head Joselito de la Banda, and Vice Mayor Bob Gardoce. (JOHN S. HEREDIA/PN)
