25 Capiceños Tesda scholars

These computer hardware servicing students in Capiz hope to acquire a National Certificate Level II to easily land a job after completing their training. /PN

ROXAS City — Twenty-five students from the 2nd District of Capiz were training on computer hardware servicing under a scholarship program of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.

The Private Education Student Financial Assistance, or Pesfa, caters to high school graduates who cannot afford a college education.

Scholars were undergoing a 392-hour competency-based training at the mezzanine floor of Hotel Veronica in Pueblo de Panay.

They hope to pass the assessment for National Certificate Level II this coming November.

“These students compose the second batch (of trainees) to finish the program,” said Jeriel Febrada, instructor.

According to Ferdinand Clarence Mateo, also an instructor and computer system and network technologist, Pesfa is “one way to help the less fortunate Capiceño have a bright future.”

Febrada and Mateo said this batch, dubbed “Innovators,” is serious in learning computer servicing skills and technologies. (JOHN S. HEREDIA/PN)
