Gov. Victor A. Tanco requested the appointment of Tesoro to further intensify the promotion of the province’s tourism programs and projects.
“I will not put to waste the trust that you have given me. I will not fail this office. I will be more dedicated and committed to my job,” Tesoro said in Hiligaynon.
Tesoro had been leading PTCAO since Tanco was elected governor in 2007.
He had been a director, coordinator, organizer and consultant of various events in the province, among which were:
- Global Peace Festival – 2008
- DUNGOG Indigenous Peoples Festival and Western Visayas Tourism Assembly – 2009
- One Visayas and International Dance X-Change – 2010
- Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines Convention and National Convention of Teachers and Tourism Plus Arts – 2011
- Tindog Capiz and Voluntourism Campaign, and Tagbu-anay: National Convention of Tourism and Hospitality Management Educators and Students – 2013
- Dungog sang Tumandok nga Pamatan-on – 2011, 2012, 2013; and
- Tourism and Arts: A National Conference on Advancing Resiliency in the Tourism Sector for the Arts – 2014.
Tesoro was recently chosen as head of the Committee on Central Cultural Community of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, covering the entire Visayas, Mimaropa and Bicol Region.
His appointment was confirmed by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan during its regular session on April 23. (Helen Grace Calar, Capiz Provincial Press Bureau/PN)
