The Villareal Stadium is the biggest stadium in Western Visayas which is capable of holding various sporting events such as athletics, swimming, soccer, football, basketball, volleyball, sepak takraw, tennis, archery and many others.
PGSO chief Eduardo Apa-ap said the facilities included for maintenance and thorough checking are the cottages and diving boards of swimming pool, some damage parts of rubberized track oval, comfort rooms and repainting of all bleachers inside of the Villareal Stadium.
Meanwhile, the PGSO turned over to the Department of Education-Capiz Division last January 30 new sports equipments for the training of Capizeño athletes in preparation for the 2013 WVRAA.
The newly procured sports equipments include balls for various events, helmets, pads, gloves, body protectors, shuttlecocks, nets, rackets, stop clocks, gum shields and many others.
Apa-ap said they followed the entire request as prescribed by coaches to secure the standard and quality of sports equipment.
“In the coming days, the second batch of sporting goods will arrive to be use in the actual WVRAA games,” Apa-ap added. (The Daily Guardian/Publicity and Promotion Committee/wvraa13)
