SEVERAL dance groups in Roxas City, Capiz danced their hearts out last April 29, 2015 at the Capitol grounds in celebration of the International Dance Day and National Dance Week.

The activity was also in line with the simultaneous “Yugyugan para sa Kultura ng Bayan” led by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA).

The event not only gave the dancers a venue to showcase their talents and express their artistry but it also encouraged the public to love the local culture and support the local artists.

The International Dance Day is being held all over the world by the International Theater Institute (ITI) every April 29. On the other hand, the Philippine National Dance Week is celebrated every fourth week of April every year as declared by Proclamation No. 154.

It brings together dancers to demonstrate and realize the function of dance in the society. (PIA-Iloilo/PN)
