ROXAS City – The provincial government of Capiz was awarded “Outstanding Local Government Unit” in the Visayas by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas for its implementation of the Credit Surety Fund (CSF).

Provincial Supervising Administrative Officer Francisco Dariagan, who received the award and certificate in behalf of Capiz Governor Victor Tanco Sr. during the CSF Regional Conference for Visayas at BSP Cebu Regional Office, Cebu City on September 16, said that CSF is one of BSP's initiatives to help the Micro-Small Medium Enterprises (MSME) and cooperatives in borrowing money or capital for their ventures.

He attributed the award to the province’s effective investments to help the MSMEs, with P8 million invested for the CSF implementation in Capiz.

He noted the active participation of the local government units by supporting the activities of the MSMEs and cooperatives in the province.

BSP Managing Director for Monetary Operation Sub-Sector Agusto Lopez-Dee, with Deputy Director Department of Loans and Credit Louella Delfin, Leones led the awarding of trophies and certificates to the awardees.

On September 19, Francisco Dariagan presented the award and certificate to Tanco and Provincial Administrator and Legal Counsel Atty. Jose Villanueva at the Office of the Governor, Capiz Provincial Capitol here. (CPPB/Rubi Ann B. Repil)
