Capiz info officers among WV’s best

ROXAS City — Three government information officers from Capiz were among the 10 Best Performing Information Officers in Western Visayas.

They were Fire Officer 2 Marlon Garbo of the Bureau of Fire Protection (Roxas City), SPO1 Donna Asmod of the Capiz Police Provincial Office, and Capiz Provincial Press Bureau chief Eduardo Basilonia of the provincial government.

They have qualified as per evaluation results of their documents based on criteria set by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Regional Search Committee.

All of them were members of the Capiz Association of Government Public Information Officers.

Criteria include the personal profile, accomplishments, citations and project impacts with the orderliness of presentation of documents and accomplishments in the last two years of service included in the rating.

Secretary Sonny Coloma of the Presidential Communications Operations Office conferred the citation to the awardees during the Information Officers’ Year-end Conference in Talisay City, Negros Occidental on December 7.

Winners in the Smart Communications Information Officers Blogging Contest were likewise recognized during the event.

The annual recognition of outstanding public information officers was a project of the PIA Regional Office 6.

On behalf of the PIA-6, Director Janet Mesa extended her grateful appreciation to the heads of the different national government agencies and local government units for partnering with them in communicating the government’s programs. (Jemin Guillermo, PIA-6 Capiz/PN)
